Every year, NFL clubs get 30 private pre-draft visited with their top draft prospects. These visits include being flown out to the club’s facilities and visiting on site. As the Saints continue to schedule their visits, bear in mind that these visits don’t necessarily translate to draft interest. Last season, the Saints traded up 14 spots in the first round to grab Marcus Davenport who they never had for a visit or workout. Sometimes these visits can be based on interest, I can see Cashman in the Saints defensive for instance, but other times it’s even just about scouting players that may end up with another team in the division. Best example of that so far this year looks to be Ed Oliver who will likely be off the board within the first 15 picks. Oliver has been consistently linked to the Falcons as a possibility with their first-round pick. The Saints did this a few years ago with Noah Spence who ended up with the Bucs. So take these with a grain of salt.
