The Saints have announced that the have resigned Josh Hill to a 3 year contract worth 8.8 million dollars. While the timing of this move doesnt make much sense, the move itself makes plenty. With Ben Watson announcing his retirement at the end of this season, and Dan Arnold still making strides in this offense, Josh Hill gives the Saints a solid tight end to lean on as they continue to search for “their guy” post Jimmy Graham era. Hill is a great blocker for the Saints and when you have a two-headed monster in the backfield with Kamara and Ingram, any team will take the extra blocking when they can get it. And while he doesnt stuff the stat sheet, Hill is also a decent receiver and always seems to make a crucial catch when we need it the most. We should also be getting the improved “Playoff Josh Hill” pretty quick here as the Saints will soon start their journey to Super Bowl #2.
