It’s the most wonderful time of the year. No, I’m not talking about Christmas, I’m talking about the NFL draft. With the NFL draft only days away we’re going to take a look at some of the players that could be available when the Saints select. The Saints only have 1 pick in the first 2 days due to the trades for Marcus Davenport, and Teddy Bridgewater last year. Having one of the most consistent and solid rosters, and no overwhelming glaring needs will allow for the Saints to take the best player available. There is no way of knowing who will be there at 62, but lets take a look at some players by position that could possibly be there.
Wide Receiver: Trequan Smith has had flashes of what he could be, but has not taking that next step yet, and with an aging Ted Ginn the Saints would love to find someone to stretch the field and make the perfect compliment for Micheal Thomas.
Riley Ridley (Georgia), Deebo Samuel (South Carolina), Kelvin Harmon (NC State), JJ Arcega-Whiteside (Stanford), Andy Isabella (UMass)
Defensive Back: There is a lot of uncertainty in this group with PJ Williams likely facing suspension, Patrick Robinson coming back from an injury that ended his season, and Marcus Williams not playing up to potential last season. If the right player is there that could help boost this secondary the Saints will probably not be able to pass him up.

Rock Ya Sin (Temple), Chauncy Gardner (Florida), Juan Thornhill (Virginia)
Offensive Line: Max Unger unexpectedly retired and it looks like the Saints may have found his replacement in Nick Easton. The Saints also have one of the best tackles in the game in Terron Armstead, but he has yet to play a full season and with Andrus Peat having one foot out the door the Saints could be looking to the future by drafting an offensive lineman.
Defensive Line: Sheldon Rankins will not be back from injury until after the start of the season, and with David Onyemata looking at a possible suspension this could be something the team looks into to add some solid depth.
Jerry Tillery (Notre Dame)
Tight End: The signing of Jared Cook in free agency was a huge move by the team. A good pass catching tight end was all the offense was missing. The team without a doubt would love to add another passing threat tight end.
Irv Smith Jr. (Alabama), Jace Sternberger (Texas A&M)
