PJ Williams Back in Black … & Gold

Expect New Orleans Saints cornerback PJ Williams back in black in gold for next season. He agreed to a one year deal to return to the Saints. The former Florida State player showed to be one of the most improved players as the 2018 season moved along. The defense has a whole had their struggles the first few weeks, but after trading for Eli Apple, the defensive unit improved week by week. This move creates great depth for this team in the cornerback department. Marshon Lattimore, Eli Apple, Patrick Robinson, PJ Williams among a few others make for a strong group. This past season he stacked up 53 tackles, 9 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, along with an interception returned 45 yards and a touchdown. With that type of production, he is a welcome addition back.

It stands to be seen how he will be used. He lived in the nickel cornerback position with Patrick Robinson hurt for the year. Id assume PJ will back him up, but Dennis Allen may get creative and use him as a 3rd safety/nickel role to create different looks for defenses to figure out. Approaching in the next 3 weeks is the 2019 NFL draft, this signing could allow the Saints to not pursue cornerback depth, but who knows? This team is in position to draft best players available throughout the draft. Whodat!!!!!!!!!
