Marques Colston Elected to Saints Hall of Fame

When I mention the University Hofstra football, unless you went to that school or are a die hard Saints fan, you probably don’t know what I’m talking about. Hofstra University is a small school in Hempstead, New York, the last season the school played football was 2009. One notable player wasn’t that noticeable in the 2006 NFL draft, that someone being 6’4″ wide receiver Marques Colston. Many teams viewed him as a camp body or a wide receiver who’d switch to a tight end. Colston went in the 7th round and only went on to win a Super Bowl, become the all time Saints leader in yards (9759), receptions (711), and touchdowns (72), and was most recently named to the Saints Hall of Fame on June.

Colston is often referred to as one of the most underrated receivers in NFL history, never making the Pro Bowl despite being the only receiver to produce 1000+ yards & 5+ touchdowns in the 5-year span between the 2009 and 2013 seasons. His nickname “Quiet Storm” always stayed true, never hearing him once complain. Colston has found success off the field after retiring, investing in multiple start ups and arena football teams. One thing is certain, #12 will always be a legend in the Saints community.
