With multiple injuries happening the past few weeks, Saints disappointingly sent key players to IR, effectively ending their season early. However, talent just got upgraded on the roster. Janoris Jenkins was recently waived by the New York Giants, resulting in the Saints of New Orleans pouncing on him.
Jenkins is a starter caliber cornerback coming from a bad situation in New York, now moving to a team contending for a Super Bowl. Many may be curious how he will change the Saints depth chart. Out of the gate, he will provide much needed depth to the cornerback position. I don’t anticipate him playing the majority of the first team snaps in pads unless someone is struggling that bad.
Jenkins teaming up with Eli Apple and Marshon Lattimore is just what is needed for the playoffs in a high octane passing league. Nicknamed Jack Rabbit, Jenkins slipped to the second round in the draft due to off of the field concerns. However, he had flashed 1st round talent. Hopefully he can catch onto Dennis Allen’s system quick and help contribute.
