Drive For Five

Well Whodat Nation, we are a long way from meaningful football but it’s never a bad time to talk about it. The Saints will attempt to win a fifth division title since the inception of the NFC South in 2002. Make no mistake this is a “Super Bowl or bust” year but the first long range team goal should be a repeat division crown. The upcoming schedule is brutal, and how the heck do we play Minnesota two years in a row up there? I digress, but the Saints play the Rams, Vikings, Eagles and Steelers just to name a few.

New Orleans won three NFC south titles before last season and finished 7-9 twice and 11-5 the next seasons. Only the Panthers have been a repeat champ in the division winning it in 2013, 2014, and 2015. This off-season has already started precariously with the Ingram suspension for alledged PED use, but the truth is they can survive any circumstance as long as number 9 is behind center. Last year I predicted a 10-6 year with playoff possibilities (google it) this year it’s way too early for predictions but the talent is there to win another Lombardi trophy. The one underlying thing that can’t be dismissed is the passing of Tom Benson and the legacy he left behind, the Black and Gold will go the extra mile to make history.
